SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1) WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: We're looking for comics (but if you have a good novel, we'll still take a look). While it doesn't have to have lesbians as the main characters, or even secondary or background characters, it should appeal to women. (See how girly our logo is? That's gonna be on all the books. Let's try and have it make sense to be there.)

2) It doesn't have to be complete, but you should have a definite plan for the book. The more complete, the better your odds at getting approved. In any case, all submissions must include (in this order):
a )A short plot summary (one or two paragraphs)
b) A more detailed plot summary (a couple pages)
c) Descriptions and drawings of all main characters (unless it's a novel, then you don't have to draw things).
d) The actual comic or story itself. If it isn't finished, at the very least you must have 20% of it done. Novels must be finished.

3) If you're submitting something that has been previously published on the web, or an ongoing series That's fine! But please have some clear direction of where the comic is going. I don't want to start publishing lesbian fiction and, five books later, it's an ode to the religious right.

4) We don't match up artists with writers, so if you can't do both, find someone who can before you submit a comic. Don't worry about art for book covers. We can take care of that part.

5) In order to avoid courtroom shenanigans, follow these guidelines. Send your submission through snail mail (United States Postal Service). It can either be a disk (a CD-R or DVD-R, no RW disks) or a hard copy (printed on paper). Send one copy to me, and one copy to yourself. Don't open the one you sent to yourself. Why? If, Heaven forbid, you should ever need to prove that you came up with the story before anyone else, things sent through USPS can be used in court, if they are unopened. Any unsolicited emails that include plot synopsis will be immediately deleted. Not because I don't like you, but because I have to.

6) I probably won't remember to return stuff to you, so make sure you don't send anything you don't need back.

7) Before you do any of that, email me first, for more details on the whole process. (rosalarian.publishing@gmail.com)

WHY SUBMIT? (A.K.A. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA GET OUTTA THIS?)

1) I handle any retouching, and lay out everything for publishing.

2) I handle distribution, so you don't have to make space in your bedroom closet for a thousand books that you can't figure out how to sell.

3) Cross promotion in other Rosalarian books, and a spot on the Rosalarian web store.

4) Money matters can be negotiated via emails.
