FWIW – I’ve been attracted to lesbians before (I’m one of those penis-owner-type-people). It’s kinda crummy when you find out, but as someone who has also had to disappoint quite a few gay boys too.. I get ya…
Dunno, I’ve usually found it’s less unpleasant to be turned down by a lesbian than by a straight woman.
When turned down by a lesbian it’s because she doesn’t fancy men. When turned down by a straight woman it’s because she doesn’t fancy me personally.
There are lesbians who will date women of the “penis-owner-type” (there are others who won’t, though), it’s not the penis they find unattractive, they just aren’t into men of any sort.

There are transgender women who have always been female in gender but were born in a body considered male. They don’t always get a “sex change” for whatever reason (financial, medical, etc), so would have a penis, and there are lesbian women who are attracted to the woman they are inside and enjoy dating and having sex with them.
Not all lesbian women are attracted to trans women who haven’t had a “sex change”, but most lesbians aren’t attracted to every single woman. There are even women who identify as lesbian and are attracted to transgender MEN. Sexuality is a complex and beautiful thing.
Saffron knows that there ARE lesbians who have penises, and made sure to ask Russ if that was what he was struggling to say before saying anything else. She’d have felt really bad if Russ was trying to come out as trans to her and she yelled at him.

StJason: It would indeed mean that he was gay, because lesbian’s are gay. If you mean does it mean he’s a gay man, then no, it does not. Sexuality and Gender are completely different concepts. You can be a gay man in a woman’s body, a straight man in a woman’s body, a gay woman in a man’s body, a straight woman in a man’s body, and like a dozen other possible combinations. But I’m fairly certain that the guy in this comic is a straight man in a man’s body trying to get into a lesbian’s pants.

OK I can totally relate to what Russ is saying. It’s not like every women I like is a lesbian, just a rather large percentage of them are. I think it has something to do with the body type I prefer: slim hips, not over endowed in the chest, looks good without make-up, and the personality that likes who they are. Most of those women that I find are lesbians, and a rather large percentage of those are dykes to boot. Fortunately I have managed to get what I mean and what I want across to most of them much better in person than I have in this comment, and the majority of them I’m still friends with. Except for a couple of dykes that were highly incensed that a man liked them for their appearance and personality. Quelle horror!

I didn’t say all lesbians are of the same body type, I said a high percentage of women of the body type I like are lesbians, and that I seem to find most of them. Not the same thing, And I know lots of lesbians, and that they come in about every shape imaginable. About half the membership of the church I attend is QUILTBAG, monogamous straight men are a distinct (as in very small) minority. I know lesbians that look like men, lesbians that look like models, fat lesbians, BBW lesbians, anorexic lesbians, and a whole passel of bi girls who are not lesbians but want to be their friends. I’m not “clueless” about lesbians, I just have bad luck running in to straight women that have the body type I like.
Maybe you should try branching out on the body types you like

I’m assuming she has at least one other project taking up her attention, most webcomic artists usually juggle multiple projects.
Ah thank you. I should have also realised that she tends to release pages in bunches and due to work commitments, it took her 6 months to update last time. Less worried now.
