This is a retelling of the first Meaty Yogurt comic I ever did! I was still trying to figure out what format I wanted to do the comic. At the time, I was so busy with other projects, that I thought, "This could be, like, a side project, and I'll only spend 5 minutes on each one." Yeah, that didn't happen.

I've watched so many bad lesbian movies and read so many bad lesbians books in my life. All that time I can never have back.

The real question is: would you really have been satisfied with Meaty Yogourt only as a side project?
You seem like a person who likes/needs to invest herself in what she does, and I think I can talk for many of us and say we like that from you!
ugh there are true words in this. Are you going to Comic Con?
I know, this is truly an uncomfortable reality for my people! LOL, oh well, you’re not really a lesbian until you lose at least double digits in hours of your life to awful lesbian media, right? At least we have the occasional one that’s brilliant!
I am indeed going to Comic Con!
I actually loved the little comic you made while Meaty Yogurt was still being developed, I thought the style was cute. It would be neat if you made more in case of slow updates/artist’s block. :]
Hee, Jackie is cute. This is around the time she met Tom, no?
Yup. I think right after.
My english isn’t very good but I try to write this well…
If yellow-colour means “awesomess”,does that means that Jackie’s glasses are awesome?
Maybe Jackie’s glasses make her see awesomeness where there is none.
i think yellow color means awesomeness in jackie’s opinion. for example, moira turned yellow as soon as jackie decided she was awesome. but i don’t quite understand the yellowness of her glasses either – at first i thought it was because she thought they made her look awesome or something, but then i realized that all of her glasses are yellow.
I think it’s because her glasses are the medium through which she views the world. They’re her filter for cool or unique things so they are highlighted in the same color as said cool/unique things.
I think the yellow indicates success and when someone’s glasses and/or eyes are yellow it means they are looking for/seeking success (or just to get out of the town which may = success in their POV XD).
I actually think this is true of both sides of the homosexual spectrum, gay, lesbian, etc. I think it’s a reflection of wanting to see yourself in your entertainment. We like to be able to relate, and sexual orientation is a decent chunk of our identity.
Oh, it’s worse for the trans part. There are so few things to read/watch that we’ve all seen them all, and they’re almost all terrible.
Er, just that. This lesbian story is guaranteed to be worth your time. And hey, it’s sorta biographical. http://www.amazon.com/12-Days-June-Kim/dp/1598166913/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309237055&sr=8-1
We need more good lesbian movies, books, and comics. There is a lot of yaoi out there in the anime world but not a lot of (non-sexual) yuri. That is why yu+ME made me so happy.
“And Then Came Lola” was okay–fun game! Go on Netflix and see if you can spot which “critiques” were put up by straight guys hoping to see hot lesbian sex!
Also, “Show Me Love” was excellent.
Yep, best answer of them all, Saffron.
That said… what movie were they talking about?
Is she making a Loudon Wainwright reference??
I don’t know who that is, so… I’m gonna say no.
Louden Wainwright is a folksinger and actor, he is the father of singer/songwriters Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright. I love Martha, if you haven’t heard her music, take a moment to give it a try…gut renching, emotional, beautiful.
